A criminal case puts a person's or a company's liberty, assets and reputation at risk all at once. I take it on with the discipline I bring to any matter, with more caution and less time to spare.

My criminal practice is devoted to defending individuals and companies, and white-collar crime gets my particular attention, since the line between a legitimate business decision and criminal liability is not always clear and is best understood from the outset.

You can come to me when an investigation has only just opened or when the case reaches me well advanced, and in both situations you deal with me, not with an intermediary.

Matters I handle

Corporate and financial crime

I advise companies and their directors, and also those harmed by such conduct, in cases of breach of fiduciary duty, misappropriation, fraud, document forgery or tax offenses.

Offenses against property

I defend people accused of fraud, misappropriation, theft, robbery or damage and, where appropriate, act for the victim as private prosecutor (acusación particular) to recover what is owed.

Punishable insolvencies

Insolvency law and criminal law meet in concealment of assets, frustration of enforcement and criminal insolvency, which is not the same thing as an insolvency court classifying an insolvency as culpable. Both disciplines are practiced in my firm, so I can handle the two sides together.

Workplace safety offenses

A workplace accident or a failure to apply prevention measures can lead to criminal liability, which falls on the directors and managers responsible. The company itself also faces consequences, such as ancillary measures and civil liability.

Assistance to detainees

I act from the moment of arrest, at the police station and before the court, and the first hours often shape the rest of the proceedings.

Strategy before the first move

I settle the strategy before acting and not on the fly, with the file in front of me: each citation and each ruling checked against its official source, and the deadlines and procedural requirements under watch from the start.

At the first meeting I would rather tell you what it is reasonable to expect than promise an outcome nobody can guarantee. What I offer is a defense that is prepared, diligent and open to verification.
